Our Obligation

Healthy animals make great tasting, healthy meat products for healthy people.

As farmers we believe that it is important to be stewards of the land while producing safe, quality food. This starts with focusing on our local environment while maintaining a livelihood for our family and the generations to come.

The farm we purchased had a modern finishing barn on it so raising market pigs and growing crops is the main source of income. The first winter raising pigs we experienced the ravages of a disease called “cirovirus” and started to question what we were feeding our pigs. The focus expanded to include what we fed our animals as this affects not only the animal itself but, those who eat the meat products produced.

Food producers must recognise the growing concerns and dietary issues of consumers facing chronic diseases such as asthma, allergies and celiac disease, not to mention the increasing numbers of those affected by cancer, diabetes and heart disease. One in three people are directly connected to these illnesses through grandparents, aunts & uncles, parents, siblings or a child.
